In a display of exceptional talent and dedication, student-athletes from Aspire Academy made their mark at the 2024 Gothenburg Youth Meeting in Sweden. These games are arguably the biggest track and field meet for age group athletes in Europe. Over 3 thousand competitors from over 20 countries congregated in Sweden’s second largest City.

It’s the perfect stage for Aspires young developing athletes to compete against the best athletes in different age groups from across Europe. The games also provided Aspires athletes with challenges in adjusting to different environmental conditions, helping prepare them for other competitions in different parts of the world.

Following a year of academic pursuits and rigorous training, Aspire Academy’s young athletes showcased their skills on an international stage, leaving a lasting impression with their outstanding performances.

The journey to Gothenburg began after the conclusion of the academic year and a memorable graduation ceremony, as the student-athletes embarked on summer camp training programmes across Europe and beyond. Their hard work and commitment to their sports were evident as they competed against top athletes from around the world at this prestigious event.

Among the standout performers from Aspire Academy were several athletes who excelled in their respective disciplines, earning a series of impressive medals. Abdulrahman Ibrahim's remarkable performance in the Hammer Throw saw him clinch the Gold, showcasing his strength and skill in the event. Similarly, Hamad Dawi's prowess in the Discus Throw (Under 17) category earned him a well-deserved gold medal, highlighting his talent and dedication to his sport.

Jamal Bedro's speed and agility were on full display as he secured the Gold in the 300m Hurdles event, demonstrating his technical proficiency and competitive spirit. The duo of Idris Abubakar and Jasim Juma showcased exceptional teamwork and speed in the 80m Race, jointly earning the gold medal and highlighting the importance of collaboration in athletics.

Additionally, Saif Hamida's excellence in the Pole Vault event earned him the silver medal, further solidifying Aspire Academy's presence among the top performers at the competition. These achievements not only reflect the individual talents of the student-athletes but also underscore the collective efforts of the academy in nurturing and developing young sporting talents.
