US President Joe Biden said that NATO is stronger than ever, and that the alliance will defend every inch of its territory.
In his remarks before the Working Session I of the NATO Summit, Biden said "For 75 years, our nations have grown and prospered behind the NATO shield. Today, we're stronger than we've ever been."
"Since, I took office, we've doubled the number of battle groups at NATO's eastern flank in the United States has; Finland and Sweden have joined the Alliance," he added.
Leaders of the member states are meeting within the North Atlantic Council (NAC), NATO's highest political body, after commemorating the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on Tuesday.
The Russian-Ukrainian war tops the alliance's priorities. The summit gives leaders the opportunity to address other pressing security issues, including the situation in the Gaza Strip, among other topics.
