Al Shahania Club have announced the signing of Dutch player Pelle van Amersfoort, coming from the Dutch club Heerenveen, to join their first team starting in the new season 2024-2025.

Van Amersfoort is one of the deals Al Shahania will rely greatly on during the Ooredoo Stars League.

The 28-year-old Van Amersfoort had a successful football career with Heerenveen and Walmer City, and the Dutch player also had a good career with his national teams, where he represented the Netherlands’ under 17 and under 19 teams.

Al Shahania Club in an official statement, said: “The contract with the Dutch player comes within the plan of the club’s Board of Directors, headed by Manahi al-Shammari, to strengthen the team’s ranks with the best players during the new season, to appear in the desired manner in the Ooredoo Star League.”

The club had also announced its contract with the duo Lotfi Madjer, coming from Al Duhail, on loan for one season, and with Nayef Hamid, from Al Sadd for one season on loan. The Al Shahania players meanwhile left Doha for a closed training camp in the Turkish city of Izmir. The camp will be held until July 28 where the team will also play three friendly matches in preparation for the new season.

Meanwhile, Al Gharafa also announced a swap deal with Al Duhail, stipulating the transfer of Mohamed Muntari, Rabah Yahya and Asim Madibo to Al Gharafa in exchange for the transfer of Hammam Al Amin to Al Duhail.
