Qatar National Library uinveils engaging Lineup of events for April
Qatar National Library (QNL) is hosting a diverse range of events throughout April.On April 10, the Library kicks off its monthly events with a special evening with musicians from Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, celebrating the significant contributions of women to global arts and music. The event will feature works by female composers such as Clara Schumann, Cecile Chaminade, and Ethel Smyth, complemented by video projections honoring female artists in visual arts and architecture.On April 12, the Murshidi Mentorship Program (formerly known as the QNL Mentorship Program) returns under its new identity, offering one-on-one mentorship opportunities for the youth seeking guidance on academic and career pathways. This program, supported by top professionals in Education City and its distinguished alumni network, aims to help high school students prepare for university through personalized advice on applications, scholarships, career planning and tips for thriving in both academic and professional environments. The introductory session will be followed by two additional sessions on April 19 and 26.The Library will host a two-day academic symposium on April 14 and 15 that explores the rich traditions of Moroccan book and manuscript production. The event is part of the Qatar-Morocco 2024 Year of Culture and also celebrates Arabic Manuscript Day 2025, under the patronage of the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALESCO). The symposium will also examine the role of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence and digital humanities, in the study and preservation of manuscripts.QNL will also celebrate Autism Awareness Month with a special sensory exploration event, alongside other educational, cultural and community-focused initiatives.On April 19, QNL invites families to a heartwarming day of sensory. The event, held in collaboration with the Parents Autism Platform and tailored for children with autism and their families, will feature interactive activities, sensory-friendly storytelling and opportunities to connect with the Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) to learn about the latest autism research. A specialist from the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) will also be available for private consultations, offering guidance and support for families.On April 26, the Library will host a workshop dedicated to CV writing, cover letters and personal statements. Whether applying for a job or university program, this session offers students and graduates practical advice and personalized feedback. Participants will also learn about the one-on-one support available at the Library.
