The Ministry of Municipality have started carrying out various maintenance works at various public parks and gardens across the country, getting them ready to receive visitors during the winter.
Speaking to local Arabic daily *Arrayah, a number of members of the Central Municipal Council (CMC) said that the ongoing maintenance works cover the green covers of these parks, the toilets, the play areas, the walking and cycling tracks, and the seats.
The various service areas, they added, will be renovated and more beautification and decoration works introduced to improve visitor experience.
CMC member Mubarak Farish said that such works are going on well at various parks and gardens at Al Gharrafa area.
He added that Al Rayyan Municipality and Public Gardens Department are exerting great efforts to maintain the gardens and parks during the summer due to the excessively hot weather.
Farish said the gardens at Al Gharrafa are all healthy and in good shape thanks to such efforts.
CMC member Jassim al-Surur noted that the concerned entities give great importance to the maintenance of public gardens and parks, considering them as key recreational areas for the residents.
He noted that the new air-conditioned walking tracks at Umm Al Saneem, Al Gharrafa and Dah Al Hamam Parks are still running well because of the regular maintenance works.
CMC member Dr Badr al-Rumaihi said that parks at his constituency at Madinat Khalifa South are undergoing comprehensive maintenance works to keep them in excellent shape and continue provide adequate services to the public.
