HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani met on Thursday with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr Ayman al- Safadi, who is visiting the country.

During the meeting, they discussed the co-operation relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them. They also discussed the developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories and the developments of the joint mediation efforts to end the war. They emphasised the necessity of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Strip and formulating an effective international stance to stop the illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and the chances of achieving just and comprehensive peace.

The meeting also discussed the co-operation between the two countries in addressing the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, ways to bring aid through the Jordanian route, and efforts to reduce regional escalation.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan emphasised the Qatar's and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's support for Lebanon's security and stability, stressing the need to adhere to Resolution 1701.

HE Sheikh Mohamed voiced Qatar's appreciation for the role of Jordan in bringing humanitarian aid into Gaza through the Jordanian route.

For his part, the deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs and expatriates of Jordan reiterated his country's support for the efforts made by Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

He also thanked Qatar for the care it gives to Jordanians who work and reside in the country.
