High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell called for finding a political solution to end the madness in Gaza, as he described it, following reports saying that 36 people were killed and dozens were injured by an Israeli attack on a school sheltering internal displaced people in the Gaza Strip.

In a post on X, Borrell said, "Ceasefire has to happen now. International Humanitarian Law has to be respected. Humanitarian assistance to civilians needs to be delivered at scale. Only n will end this madness."

The EU's foreign policy chief added, "An already very fragile population is asked to relocate again and again, with no end in sight."
