The rest house sector in Qatar witnessed a strong recovery in summer, after a large number of citizens and residents enjoyed the high-quality hotel services provided in an atmosphere of privacy and tranquility away from hotels and tourist resorts.

A number of owners and officials of these rest houses confirmed to daily Arabic 'Arrayah' that the volume of reservations during last June and with the start of the summer vacation reached its highest levels compared to previous months.

Ali Abdul Hamid, a reservations manager at one of the rest houses, confirmed that the turnout for booking the rest house located in Umm Ubairiya was high during the month of June. It is expected that bookings in August will reach the same result, especially since their rest houses are among the oldest and enjoy a good reputation among a segment of citizens and residents.

Fatima Abdullah, the owner of a rest house, pointed out that the volume of demand for rest house reservations increased at the beginning of June by families during the weekly holidays. Stressing that the price of booking a rest house on regular days is QR2,500, and on weekends it is QR4,000, but they give the customer a discount of QR1,000 if he books two days during the weekly holiday.

She noted that most of the weekends have been booked until mid-August, and it is expected that all weekends will be booked in the coming few days due to the high demand from customers. She confirmed that the facilities available in the rest house are an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, and they also provide a padle court, a children’s play area, and a volleyball court, in addition to a large room that includes a billiards table and baby foot for adults, in addition to an indoor and outdoor seating area in the garden, which contains a desert air conditioner.

Farid Mohamad, an employee at a rest house, considered that the prices of rest houses are the lowest in the hospitality sector, since rest houses in Qatar include between 5 and 7 master rooms, an external driver’s room and another for the maid, and they have private swimming pools and playgrounds for children, and can accommodate about 20 guests. The level of cleanliness in most of them is high, in addition to the availability of kitchens that allow families to cook their food.

They also include a large living room and a large TV with an open subscription to display Arabic and foreign films and series. He pointed out that the guests have the option to order from open buffet services and barbecue parties upon their request.
