Qatar Charity (QC) is planning to implement a series of humanitarian projects as part of its ongoing “Sudan Appeal” to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Al Qadarif State with tents, shelter kits, and cooking equipment, a statement said Tuesday.

The project includes the distribution of 259 tents, 777 mattresses, and 777 blankets to the most affected and needy displaced families, along with the necessary cooking equipment.

The IDPs who have arrived in Al Qadarif State from Sennar State are experiencing extremely difficult humanitarian conditions, lacking both food and shelter after losing everything.

Adel Mohammed Awad, an IDP, stated that the humanitarian situation there is dire, and they are in urgent need of many forms of assistance, especially food and medicine for those with chronic illnesses.

Rafiah al-Amin Hamida, another IDP, said that they urgently need safe shelter, healthy food, and access to safe sanitation facilities.

The QC field teams have implemented a series of projects that have had a significant impact on the IDPs living in shelters and on affected families since the onset of the crisis in April 2023.

These projects have covered areas such as food security, health, water, sanitation, shelter, and education.

As of July 10, approximately 377,752 people have benefited from these efforts.

Donations to the campaign can be made through the QC's website through the link (https://qch.qa/so-e).

A “Home Collector” can be requested through the app (qch.qa/appen), in addition to dialing 44920000 for this purpose.

Benefactors can donate at Qatar Charity’s branches as well as at its collection points in the commercial complexes.
