The Philippine embassy in Doha has urged Filipinos in Qatar to register as overseas voters ahead of the mid-term national elections on May 12, 2025. In a post on its social media pages, the embassy noted that registration is open until September 30, 2024 at the chancery in Doha. According to the Philippine Overseas Voting Act, registered Filipino expatriates can vote for national positions such as President, Vice President, senators, and party-list representatives. However, in the upcoming elections next year, expatriates will only be able to vote for senators and party-list representatives, as presidential elections occur every six years.
