Gaiety and patriotic fervour marked the 78th Independence Day celebrations by Indian Community Tuesday in Doha. In the early morning, Community members thronged the Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) premises where ambassador Vipul hoisted followed by the national anthem performed a group of students. The Indian ambassador paid floral tribute to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi and read out the independence message of the president of India. The event also marked a cultural gala in the presence of the representatives of Indian community organisations and embassy officials.
