Waseef, the leading real estate management and marketing company, and Qatar Guests Centre affiliated with Eid Charity, organised an event for workers in the Barwa Al Baraha project. The event, according to a statement from Waseef, was to introduce them to Islam, Islamic culture and the customs and values ​​of Qatari society.

The event included various activities to introduce the participants to the correct and tolerant image of Islam, which calls for virtuous morals, love and co-operation between people and community solidarity. There was free distribution of books and pamphlets translated into multiple languages ​​on the meanings of the Qur’an in addition to teaching the reverts the basics of Islam such as purity, ablution and prayer. The programme taught the workers about societal customs and traditions. There were lectures and competitions. Prizes and gifts were distributed to the participants.

The event was under the supervision of a specialised team from Qatar Guest Centre. Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa al-Thani, head of the Communications and Marketing Department at Waseef, thanked the Qatar Guest Centre for their efforts in making the event a success.

“The activities have enriched the workers of the Barwa Al Baraha project with a sound understanding of the definitions of Islam while introducing them to the societal values ​​of Qatar, to bring about positive change in society,” she said. The official added that Waseef will continue to provide support for the workers to improve their knowledge and understanding of the Qatari society better.

Abdul Rahman Ali al-Maliki, executive director of the Qatar Guests Centre, said the event included multiple activities aimed at introducing the working class to the correct and tolerant image of Islam. The centre is always keen to organise various events to spread Islamic culture and introduce Islam and moral values ​​in Qatar, he added.
