Indian schools in Qatar celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India with special ceremonies on campus on Sunday highlighting the values of democracy and saluting the spirit of pluralism, secularism, and integrity. The itineraries featured hoisting of the national flag, rendering of the national anthem, patriotic speeches and songs and other cultural performances.At MES Indian School patriotic songs and group dances depicting the cultural integrity and harmony of the country were rendered by students.MES governing board general secretary Hazmal Ismail, the chief guest, hoisted the Indian national flag in the presence of management member M C Muhammed, officials including principal Dr Hameeda Kadar and parents, teachers and students. The school choir rendered the national anthem.Teachers Fiona and Rizwa Fathima, welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks, respectively. The event was coordinated by cultural coordinators Anver K and Sumitha Abdul Nasar.At MES Indian School, Abu Hamour Branch (Mesis), students Sinan, deputy head girl Shruti, deputy head boy Vamshi Krishnan, Shristi Chandhirahasan and Abdul Hadi took to the stage on the occasion. Vice principal Annie Francis spoke.At Ideal Indian School, president Dr Hassan Kunhi M P hoisted the national flag and gave a message. Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb, heads of the sections, staff, Scouts and Guides, school marching band, parents and students joined the celebrations.Student Zaid Khalid led the prayer. Students Sara Tarik Parkar and AbduRehman Ismail gave speeches in Hindi and English, respectively. A patriotic song by students from the Boys’, Girls’, Junior, and Evening sessions captivated the audience.Boy Scouts and Girl Guides were honoured with certificates and medals for their services rendered on various occasions. Boys' Section assistant cultural secretary Ihsan Shameer welcomed the gathering and Girls' Section assistant cultural secretary Nakshatra proposed a vote of thanks. Junior Section teacher Aryalakshmi compered the programme.At Olive International School, the celebrations took place across all campuses. At Al Thumama Campus, the highlight was the grand parade, featuring students from the four school houses.The cultural segment included a patriotic dance by the tiny tots of Abu Hamour campus, a mass drill, and patriotic songs and dances by students from Nuaija and Al Thumama campuses.Chairman Davis Edakulathur was the chief guest. A patriotic speech in Hindi was delivered by student Sarthak Shori. Vice principal Shalini Rawat also spoke in Hindi. Celebrations were also held at the Umm Salal and Kharaitiyat campuses. COO Juttas Paul and principal Jacob Mathew spoke.At DPS-Modern Indian School, president and chief guest Yasir Nainar unfurled the Indian national flag, in the presence of dignitaries Fire Station's Artist in Residence director and Tasweer Photo Festival director Khalifa al-Obaidaly and Al Jazeera Media Network journalist Sara Hassa Rasheed.Nainar and principal Asna Nafees spoke, highlighting the school's 25-year legacy. The students presented a colourful cultural programme, in a fusion of poetry, dance, music, and painting. The school’s 25th-anniversary logo was also released.At DPS - Monarch International School, the president hoisted the national flag and spoke, followed by the principal's address. Students delivered speeches. The celebration culminated in a stirring choir performance, their voices resonating with pride and unity.At Podar Pearl School, vice president Dr Steffy Rachel Sam unfurled the tricolor and read the message from the President of India. The gathering included the Board of Directors, principal Dr. Maneesh Mangal, members of the senior leadership team, as well as the teaching faculty and staff.At Noble International School, chairman Hussain Mohmmed U and finance director Showkath Ali Taj unfurled the national flag in the presence of director K M Nazar. Principal Shibu Abdul Rasheed spoke. Students and teachers presented cultural performances. Vice principal Robin K Jose and Shihabudheen welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks, respectively.
