Medical Director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Gaza, Iyad Al-Jabri, has called on international and human rights organizations to provide protection for the hospital and medical personnel operating in the facility.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al-Jabri said the Israeli occupation army published a new map to evacuate residential blocks, including the site that embraces Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al Balah. He emphasized that the Israeli occupation army is bent on torturing the Palestinian people after declaring the hospital site as a zone of its military operations, triggering several medical personnel and patients to leave, who run scared of the occupation's brutality.

Additionally, Al-Jabri stressed that the hospital is the sole remaining medical facility in Gaza which offers integrated medical services, after Israel demolished all public hospitals, as well as a substantial number of private hospitals and medical centers during the ongoing onslaught on Gaza.

He underlined that the hospital would prevail and continue to provide critical services for patients and wounded people by leaning on its remaining medical staffers, calling on international and human rights organizations to stand up for them and protect the hospital and its medical personnel before being destroyed.

Al-Jabri stressed that despite the Israeli threats, paramedics keep whisking off the injured people due to the Israeli occupation's ongoing targeting of the middle area.

Following the threats unleashed by the Israeli occupation soldiers against the zone where hospital is located, the Palestinian Ministry of Health declared that the medical facility will keep operating, as its medical personnel are committed to serving up to 100 patients who still remain in the hospital, notwithstanding the case of panic disorder and departure of several patients who feared the recurrence of the scenario of invading other hospitals.

Deir Al-Balah Municipality stated that in the past 72 hours, the Israeli occupation forces have displaced approximately 250,000 Palestinians and rendered 25 shelters out of service due to its unabated offensive in the city.
