Qatar University (QU) Health hosted its third Health Sector Meet and Greet, titled “Collaborate. Innovate. Inspire.” to bring together new and returning health sector faculty members.

The event was marked by the presence of prominent figures, including Prof Asma al-Thani, the vice-president of Health and Medical Science, along with the deans of various QU Health colleges, directors, faculty members, and staff.

“It takes me a great pleasure to welcome QU Health’s new and returning faculty and staff,” said Dr Asma al-Thani. “2024 has been a landmark year for QU Health, as we have achieved remarkable milestones that demonstrate our focus and commitment to health education and research.”

Prof Mohammed Ahmedna, the assistant vice-president of academic quality and strategy at the QU, said: “The annual welcome event for the health sector at Qatar University is designed to welcome and engage new and returning faculty members who are eager to begin the new academic year with enthusiasm.”

Prof Feras Alali, the assistant vice-president of research and graduate studies, delivered a presentation on the structure and objectives of the research and graduate studies sector at QU Health.

“It was a pleasure to connect with our new faculty members during the meet and greet session,” he said. “Together, we will foster a collaborative environment that supports innovation and academic excellence. I look forward to seeing the outstanding contributions you will make to our institution.”

Dr Alla El-Awaisi, the director of clinical operations and engagement, underscored the importance of the event.

“Our recent achievements in global rankings, impactful research contributions, and the addition of state-of-the-art facilities underscore our commitment to excellence and innovation,” she said. “As we embark on this new academic year and work closely with our members, whose expertise and dedication will continue to shape the future of health profession education and research.”
