As teachers and administrative staff have already resumed regular work hours at government schools, preparations for receiving students are underway for the new school year 2024-25, which begins on September 1.

Some government schools have started sending SMS to remind parents to prepare their children for school from the first day.

School administrators are meanwhile preparing to receive the students and introduce them to the school system and various facilities.

Speaking to local Arabic daily *Arrayah, a number of government school managers stressed that the necessary preparations have been made.

Fahd al-Shemmari, director of the Rawdat Rashid Preparatory and Secondary School for boys, said that the school has formed a committee to receive the students on the first day and introduce them to various buildings and facilities, including the exit and entry points, laboratories, sports facilities and other service facilities.

Attendance will be registered from the very first day, with parents to be notified if their child is absent.

Fahd al-Dirham, director of the Mohamed Bin Abdulaziz Al Manna Secondary School, said that a plan has been adopted to receive the students, which range from distributing textbooks and delegating them to their respective classrooms.

A reminder SMS will be sent to parents to stress the importance of regular attendance at school.

Hassan al-Qahtani, the director of Al Wakra Secondary School for Boys, said that textbooks will be placed on the desk of each student in the classrooms.

Teachers will discuss the results of the past year with the students and work out a plan with them for better outcomes ahead.

Ismail Shams, the director of the Omar Ibn Al Khattab School, said that school buses have been assigned to the various areas to pick up students and that parents will receive a reminder SMS accordingly.
