HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE), Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, said the new academic year 2024-2025 is not merely a history in the yearly calendar, but rather a launch of new milestone in the educational journey to build generations capable of being good building blocks that advance Qatar and achieve its ambitious visions and aspirations. He congratulated all for the beginning of the new year.
In his inaugural address to the annual pedagogical meeting, HE Dr Al-Nuaimi underscored the the ministry's top priority to offer an integrated and stimulating educational environment for students in engage in qualitative studies that keep abreast of the most premium global standards.
He noted the ministry's extraordinary efforts in modernising the educational curricula and advancing school infrastructure, in addition to providing advanced educational assets, as well as modernising and stimulating the educational environment to be effective and buoyant, since education is the bedrock of the homeland's renaissance.
He highlighted that the ministry puts the provision of qualitative training opportunities for pedagogical leaders, teachers and all those who operate in the educational field on its top priorities, in recognition of their instrumental role in achieving the MOEHE's new strategy 2024-2025, along with a wide diversity of initiatives and projects emanating from this strategy.
With the incredible collaboration of all entities many educational gains have been accomplished with great pride in the state education career, where educational system and institutions earned an honourable academic reputation, prompting them to proceed with advancing the educational system in quest for maintaining it on the top record of international competitiveness, in pursuit of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), he pointed out.
HE Dr Al-Nuaimi stressed the importance of having an all-hands-on-deck approach with every single individual performing his and her entire role and building on gains and milestones that have been achieved to sustain the advancement of the educational system, in addition to adding new building blocks in all fields through pursuing the path of excellence and shining, he added.
He underlined that success in this mission requires a close collaboration on the part of all concerned parties, highlighting that the role of school managers and teachers now go beyond the traditional teaching boundaries, since they have become partners in creating the students' character and bolstering their capabilities, meeting all students essential requirements to have a high quality education, in addition imbuing them with knowledge skills and polishing their talents to be ready for the future.
In addition, HE Dr Al-Nuaimi affirmed that he is grateful to student parents whose role in this regard is not less significant, as education and upbringing are an integrative process that prompts effective engagement on the part of families and society. Also, he commended the extraordinary efforts made by all those who worked in the educational sector throughout the past year.
He affirmed that they worked diligently to provide a safe and stimulating educational atmosphere that helped students proceed with their studies fervently, whose dedication and honor to performing this mission place Qatar at the forefront of pioneering nations in the education field. He implored them to tirelessly work to make this academic season a year of challenge and achievement to further create their success stories and realize their dreams.
HE the Undersecretary honoured 45 pedagogical leaders from public schools who enrolled into the "Leadership" programme in the previous academic year. The programme was implemented by the MOEHE's training and development centre, in collaboration with Harvard University and the Qatar Leadership Centre, and provided its participants with a five-month educational leadership journey.
This included training workshops at the aforementioned university, where they internalised new knowledge, polished their skills, and deepened their capabilities.
Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Maha Zayed al-Ruwaili said that the educational meeting is an annual event for the exchange of expertise and knowledge among all sectors of the educational community, serving as a milestone event that sets the stage for a successful start to the academic year.
In her statement, al-Ruwaili said that through holding this meeting, the ministry highlights its educational goals and strategic priorities to ensure that all educational sector workers share a clear and shared vision, in addition to being an occasion for developing participants' leadership and educational skills, and creating harmony among all elements of the educational process.
She added that the educational meeting consolidates participants' experiences which in turn enhance effectiveness and improve the quality of education in response to ongoing changes in the labour market and Qatari society, thus keeping the education sector up-to-date and innovative.
Al-Ruwaili called for developing one's skills in the pursuit of excellence and creativity, and advancing all of the country's sectors, thus, realising Qatar's ambitions and national vision.
For her part, Director of the Training and Development Centre Department Iman Salman al-Mohannadi said that the "Leadership" programme was one of the programmes implemented last year over a five-month period, which targeted local school principals and deputies head, with one of its session taking place in Boston, US.
Al-Mohannadi explained that the programme helped participants refine their leadership skills and pay field visits to some American schools to learn about their experiences in school leadership. She mentioned that 45 trainees participated in this edition of the program, including members of the permanent committee for the development of public schools, as well as several school principals and deputies head.
The annual educational meeting included a panel discussion about the importance of positivity in life and in a school setting, in which Saudi author, writer, and educational consultant Dr Khalid al-Munif spoke about the importance of conquering hearts, staying positive, having something positive to say as opposed to criticising, in addition to making use of the experiences of experts in leadership, education, and life in general.
