Al Gannas Qatari Society has unveiled its competitions and championships for the 2024-25 season, offering new opportunities for falconers and competitors. Miteb al-Qahtani, director of championships at Al Qannas Qatari Society and the Marmi Festival, said the first championship will begin in November with the Ras Laffan Falconry Championship 2024, sponsored by the Ras Laffan Social Communication Programme and its supporting companies.

The registration dates and the start of the championship will be announced later. The 6th Ras Laffan Falconry Championship will include several competitions, such as Al-Da'u, Al-Tala', the Young Falconer, and the Promising Falconer. Al-Da'u competition will have seven rounds, and the Promising Falconer competition two rounds.

The second event will be Katara Falconry and Hunting Championship 2024, a first of its kind. Al-Qahtani said that the Young Falconer's Camp will take place during the school break at the end of this year. The 16th edition of Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2025) will be held next January, concluding with the 15th edition of the "International Saluki Championship."

Abdulwahab bin Omair al-Nuaimi, deputy director of championships at Al Qannas Qatari Society and the Marmi Festival, stressed that the competitions and championships organised by the society aim to encourage falconers to hold onto the rich and authentic heritage, which is a source of pride in Qatar. They also help in spreading a friendly competitive atmosphere, in addition to having a significant local, regional, and international impact.
