The Qatar Mobility Innovations Centre (Qmic) of Qatar University hosted Finnish ambassador Pekka Voutilainen, for discussing areas of possible collaboration.
Ambassador Voutilainen engaged with Qmic's leadership to gain insights into the centre's innovative projects in mobility solutions, smart technologies, and innovative initiatives, a statement said.
The discussions focused on potential areas for collaboration, particularly in advancing smart mobility and enhancing transportation infrastructure.
The envoy also introduced some of the most significant technological developments within the Finnish technology sector, and presented some ideas regarding possible partnerships with stakeholders in the Qatari market.
Ambassador Voutilainen stated: “This visit reflects the commitment of both countries to foster collaboration in innovation and technology. I am impressed by Qmic's initiatives and believe there are significant opportunities for partnership that can benefit both nations.”
Dr Mohammed Abdulaziz al-Sada, Qmic's executive director, said: “We are excited about the possibility of working together with Finnish counterparts to leverage technology and contribute to Qatar’s vision for a smart and sustainable future, as well as boosting collaboration with Qmic and Qatar University, the main national educational institute in Qatar.”
