The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Monday signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with various entities at ConteQ Expo 24, including Huawei, Empa, Siemens and Veolia.
The MoU with Huawei, which aims to achieve cooperation in smart transportation, smart building, safer construction practices and talent development, was signed by Ashghal president Dr engineer Saad bin Ahmed al-Muhannadi and Huawei Gulf North, Middle East and Central Asia Region CEO Rico Lin.
The MoU with Empa, which aims to develop cooperation in the fields of construction technology and materials science and technology, had Dr al-Muhannadi and Empa director Dr Tanja Zimmermann as signatories.
The MoU with Siemens, which aims to promote the concepts of digital twin and smart building, was signed by Ashghal's Project Affairs director Yousef A Rahman H H Al-Emadi and Siemens general manager Hakan Ozdemir.
The MoU with Veolia aims to develop the usage of modular solutions aimed at polishing Treatment Sewage Effluent or treating brackish groundwater in the view of preserving the existing sources of fresh water. Ashghal's Drainage Networks Operation manager engineer Khalid al-Obaidli and Veolia NME vice president Johnny Obeid signed the agreement.
An Ashghal statement said that more than 14 cooperation agreements will be signed during the exhibition with prominent international companies including Google, Honeywell, Microsoft, and IBM among others.
