MES Indian School with 335 points including 30 gold, 28 silver and 19 bronze medals in under-14, 17 and 19 categories emerged as the overall champions in the CBSE Qatar Cluster Athletic Championship. Jointly organised by MES and Olive International School (OIS), the event was held over three days at the synthetic track of the former. In the boys’ under-14, 17 and 19 categories and the girls’ under-17 category, MES, which celebrates its golden jubilee this year, won the overall championship. A total of eighteen CBSE-affiliated schools participated. MES principal Dr Hameeda Kadar and OIS principal Jacob Mathew gave away the trophies. With this win, the athletic squad of MES has qualified to participate in the Inter-school CBSE National Athletic Meet being held from October 6 to 10 at Varanasi, India.
