Qatar Tourism (QT) marked the World Tourism Day 2024 Wednesday under the theme 'Tourism and Peace' at Heenat Salma Farm. The event featured a short documentary on 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, an art workshop titled 'Sport in Global Paintings,' and workshops on handicrafts, traditional weaving, painting, embroidery and other artistic activities.
Dr Buthaina al-Janahi, head of Communications, stated that QT is keen to enhance the tourist activities and industry in the country with its media partners to present the diverse experiences that Qatar offers to the world.
"The World Tourism Organisation want to shed light through this celebration on the basic role of tourism in promoting understanding among different peoples and cultures," she said.
"Qatar has been considered as home for people from more than 100 nationalities from around the world. It is also one of the safest countries in the world and very suitable destination for families.
"Qatar encourages culture exchange as it is known to be a suitable place to enhance international understanding and peace and cultural cooperation," added Dr al-Janahi.
