The celebration of the 41st Independence and National Day of St Kitts and Nevis took place in Doha on Wednesday.

The first celebration of St Kitts and Nevis' Independence and National day in Doha was organised by Al Zaeem Holding and Manora Holding chief executive Khalil Ismail, Riva Group chief executive and managing director of Al Zaeem Holding Elisabeth Marascalchi, and Salah Khaled of the Unesco Doha office.

St Kitts and Nevis’ Independence Day is celebrated every year on September 19.

This date marks the nation’s freedom from British colonial rule, as it gained independence in 1983.

St Kitts and Nevis is a Caribbean island country made up of two islands located in the West Indies.

Their combined area is 269sq km. Its capital Basseterre is located on the island of St Kitts with estimated population of 48,400 (2024).

Their official language is English and their official currency is East Caribbean Dollar.

St Kitts & Nevis’ has 18 miles of lush rainforests, majestic mountains, golden shores and its welcoming people.
