Saudi Arabia's Cinema Association said that the 11th edition of the Saudi Film Festival will take place from April 17 to 23, featuring Qatari films.Held in partnership with the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) and supported by the Saudi Ministry of Culture's Film Commission, the film festival will feature the screening of 68 films from Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf, the Arab world, and the wider world, in addition to four seminars, four training programs, and three sessions including a book signing by the authors of the Saudi Film Encyclopedia initiative. The festival will also honor Saudi artist Ibrahim Al Hasawi.During a press conference, Saudi Film Festival Director, Ahmed Al Mulla, said that since its 5th edition, the festival started featuring film contests and the screening of films from the Arabian Gulf countries, as well as Iraq and Yemen.He added that a selection of films from these countries will compete and be part of parallel screenings, while cinema and media personalities from these countries will attend the festival.This year's edition will highlight Japanese cinema by screening both feature and short Japanese films. Additionally, the festival will host film experts and hold a cultural seminar on the Japanese cinema experience
