On the occasion of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2024, the Ministry of Municipality organiSed a number of events and activities that focused on the importance of environmental sustainability and the protection of natural resources.
The aim was to enhance sustainable development for a better future and help attain Qatar National Vision 2030. Accordingly, Doha municipality organised a number of awareness lectures targeting different groups of people, in particular school students, in addition to some planting campaigns at different areas of the municipality.
Al Rayyan Municipality organised an educational workshop on sustainable development. Al Wakra Municipality conducted a number of lectures and workshop for school students on the different methods of agriculture. Al Daayen Municipality organised a workshop and lecture on sustainability.
Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality held a tree planting campaign and a recycling workshop. Al Sheehaniya Municipality carried out a campaign to clean Zekreet Beach, while Al Shamal Municipality organised various workshops and lectures for school students on agriculture.
The Public Gardens Department continued its efforts in line with the one-million trees planting initiative to increase the green cover across the country. This year marks the ninth edition of Qatar Sustainability Week, which concludes Saturday.
