The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Picpa) Doha recently hosted its first-ever CMA Reunion Night. The event brought together professionals who have passed the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam and those currently on their CMA journey.

In her opening remarks, Picpa Doha president Kathryn Joyce Fajardo emphasised the importance of unity and professional growth within the CMA community. A dance performance by some Picpa officers added a fun and entertaining touch to the formal proceedings.

The event was organised by Picpa officers, including Kaiser Sevillano, Effie Sevillano, Rowena Cahintong, Maria Irene Laforteza, Keziah Ola Sadiwa, Marivel Pagayonan and Pilar Ditablan. Among the highlights were presentations from two guest speakers. Asham Almasri, president of the Institute of Management Accountants, Doha Chapter, spoke on 'Enhancing Professional Success Through Emotional Intelligence,' emphasising the importance of soft skills in leadership and career growth.

Fernando Tayag IV, Picpa Doha CMA review director, presented on 'Change Management and Adaptability in Finance: Leading Change Initiatives, Adapting to New Technologies, and Driving Innovation in Financial Processes.' His talk provided a fresh perspective on thriving in a fast-evolving industry.

Special CMA Outstanding Awards were presented. Leadership Excellence Award - Lory Joy G. Alvarez; Distinguished Service Award to Jehmar R Tabili; Achievement Recognition Award - Fernando Tayag IV; Star of the Night Awards - Renz Jayson Nava, and Pia Vergara. Picpa Doha vice president Rowena Cahintong delivered the closing remarks.
