MES Indian School bagged the overall championship in the 8th Uswa e rasul Interschool Elocution Competition and Holy Qur'an recitation competition held at Ideal Indian School. A total of 18 expatriate schools from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh participated in the contests held in senior and junior categories for boys and girls.

For juniors, the topic was ‘The mercy and compassion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’ and for the seniors it was ‘Social justice principles established by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’. Onaisa Rashid bagged first prize in the senior category while Aaesha Fathima won the first prize in the junior category.

In the Holy Qur'an recitation competition, Abdul Rahman won second prize in senior category and Mohammad Umair Mujeeb won first prize in junior category. Rassia Hamza, Shaheen Zubaida and Mohd Athar trained the students for the elocution while Habeebullah and Manasul Ansari were the trainers of the Qur'an recitation. Usman Mayyeri, head of the Department, Arabic, Urdu & Islamic Studies, was the school's coordinator. Principal Dr Hameeda Kadar congratulated the winners and the trainers.
