The Doha Clinic Diabetes Centre of Excellence held an awareness session to educate the community about diabetes and ways to prevent and manage it.

Prof Adel Abdel Aziz, vice president of the International Diabetes Federation and advisor to the World Health Organisation, delivered a keynote speech on diabetes, covering a wide range of important topics.

Understanding diabetes, risks and prevention strategies, adopting healthy lifestyle choices and effective disease management techniques were discussed.

More than 50 people attended the seminar. They were given gifts and a free blood sugar test.

Dr Mohamed Atwa, medical director of Doha Clinic Hospital, said: "We will work to organise more seminars and awareness campaigns in various medical fields, as part of our commitment to achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 towards a physically and psychologically healthy society."
