HE Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti praised the contents of the lofty speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which laid the foundations for work directions in the next stage.
In her remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Her Excellency emphasized the Shura Council's support for what was stated in His Highness's speech before the council regarding making constitutional amendments that would contribute to strengthening the unity and cohesion of Qatari society, which derives its strength from solidarity, cooperation, and unity. She noted that the directives of His Highness the Amir guide the Shura Council to perform its duties and continue its path in serving the nation and the citizens.
Her Excellency stressed that these directives represent a roadmap for the council to follow in determining its priorities and developing its future strategies. She highlighted that the Shura Council is proceeding with steady and continuous steps towards contributing to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030, guided by the wise directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which lay the foundations for national work and enhance the state's capabilities to face challenges and achieve ambitions.
Her Excellency added that the council, as the country's legislative authority, plays a major role in promoting the comprehensive development process by exercising its powers in studying and approving laws that contribute to achieving progress in various sectors.
HE the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council addressed the key achievements of the Shura Council during the previous session, noting that the council was able to study and approve several draft laws that contributed to strengthening the legislative system of the state, in addition to discussing topics that concern citizens and meet their aspirations.
Her Excellency also affirmed the council's keenness to enhance transparency and cooperation with all government agencies, within the framework of the efforts made to achieve the public interest.
Regarding the Shura Council's preparations for the current session, HE Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti indicated that the council is constantly working to develop its legislative and oversight system, and its committees are working seriously to follow up on all issues and topics included on their agendas.
Her Excellency also stressed that the council will continue its tireless efforts for more accomplishments in various fields, in a way that serves the welfare of the Qatari society and supports the nation's aspirations for further progress and prosperity.
In this regard, Her Excellency congratulated the heads of the council's committees who were approved during today's session, which witnessed the opening of nominations for the presidency of the committees in accordance with the new internal regulations, wishing them success in their duties during this session.
