HE the Secretary-General of the Shura Council Nayef bin Mohammed al-Mahmoud praised the speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani before the Shura Council Tuesday, stressing that His Highness' speech presented directives and an insightful vision that enhances the path of national action and lays clear foundations for the next stage in all sectors.In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency commended His Highness the Amir's continued support for the Shura Council and strengthening its role as a legislative authority that contributes to formulating and developing laws, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, stressing the Council's keenness on continuing pioneering role based on its constitutional powers.HE the Secretary-General of the Shura Council noted the fruitful co-operation between the Council and the government in implementing policies that enhance the welfare of citizens and achieve the national interest, stressing the General Secretariat's commitment to providing the necessary support to the Shura Council to achieve its goals and continue to develop its legislative and oversight work.The General Secretariat is constantly working to develop its working methods to provide the necessary support to the Council members in a way that contributes to facilitating its work, he added. Regarding the General Secretariat's preparations for the current session, HE Al Mahmoud told QNA that the General Secretariat is working continuously in an organized manner both during the session and outside it to ensure that tasks assigned to it are implemented in the best possible way.HE the Secretary-General of the Shura Council stressed the General Secretariats keenness on employing qualified national competencies to ensure the highest standards of quality in all its work, noting its role in organizing and following up on the Councils sessions as well as the work of its committees and supervising the members participation in regional and international parliamentary forums.
