The Ministry of Education and Higher Education concluded today the first edition of the "Takatuf" conference for people with disabilities in private schools and kindergartens.
The two-day event brought together officials, experts and specialists from Qatar and beyond, in addition to school principals, students and their parents, and inclusive education enthusiasts.
The participants' final recommendations underscored the importance of integration between the ministries and state institutions concerned with services for people with disabilities, which leads to improving their quality and the programs provided to the targeted groups, making the best use of resources, ensuring their use in a more effective way to meet their needs, and achieving long-term sustainability.
They also recommended the need to develop programs to educate parents about the importance of early diagnosis of their children, enhancing communication and cooperation between specialists, launching professional support programs, in addition to recommendations related to learning, accredited courses, capacity building, and others.
