Britain has sanctioned Israeli settler organizations that it said had sponsored violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank, and called on Israel to "stop settler expansion on Palestinian land".
The sanctions "target 3 settler outposts and 4 organizations that have supported, incited and promoted violence against Palestinian communities in the West Bank," the UK Foreign Office said.
These sanctions enacted under the UK's global human rights regime.
"Measures respond to a continued rise in violence that is devastating Palestinian communities in the West Bank," the Foreign Office said.
The inaction of the Israeli entity's government "has allowed an environment of impunity to flourish where settler violence has been allowed to increase unchecked," UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy said.
