The Hour and Hour programme, in collaboration with the Qatar Cancer Society, the Women's Police Institute, and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), organised an awareness event on breast cancer as part of the Pink October (Breast Cancer Awareness Month).

The event was held under the slogan "A Window of Hope," and the programme announced that this slogan will be adopted for a series of future health events. Tamani al-Yafei, CEO of Hour and Hour programme, said: "The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabor al-Thani, chairman of the Qatar Cancer Society, and in collaboration with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic."

The event featured an awareness panel discussion titled 'A Session of Hope,' attended by Lt Col Kholoud Anbar al-Nuaimi, director of the Women's Police Institute, Dr Mohsen Mesmar and Aisha al-Tamimi from the PHCC. The session moderated by Fatima al-Ahmed addressed several topics aimed at raising women's awareness about the necessity of early breast cancer detection.

The event included an exhibition featuring photographs and artworks by female artists who have survived breast cancer, serving as role models for women and inspiring hope that treatment is possible and that overcoming the disease is not impossible. The event also included Arabic calligraphy and a photography corner to document the memories. The exhibition was organised in collaboration with the Embassy of the Dominican Republic, which contributed exclusive items brought specifically. Al-Yafei, noted that the programme will continue its diverse activities as she she extended her thanks to the sponsors who supported the event.
