Outreach Qatar (OQ) celebrated Outreach Day, marking the anniversary of its first session for special needs children.
The event began with a lamp lighting by the chief guest, Indian embassy first secretary Eish Singhal and other guests.
Guest of honour, Bhavan’s Public School principal Philip, shared his personal experiences, and spoke in depth about how the guidance given by Outreach has seen a visible change in the lives of the children, and reiterated his support to OQ.
Indian Cultural Centre president A P Manikantan recalled how he has been a part of OQ since inception and appreciated its activities.
Indian Community Benevolent Forum and Indian Sports Centre former president Nilanshu Dey spoke how the changes in children with special needs could lead to a difference in the entire community.
OQ advisory board chairman P N Baburajan recalled about the formation of the organisation and the plan to form Outreach Qatar Centre for Special Needs Children.
The event feted teachers/trainers, volunteers and support staff, whose dedication marked an enormously visible change in the lives of the OQ children and their families. It was emotional to witness parents and others in tears, while the children spoke out their heart and confidently wished the gathering. The children gifted keychains to the teachers, trainers and volunteers.
OQ general secretary Sameer Moosa welcomed the audience and OQ president Avinash Gaikwad presided. Qatar Tamizhar Sangam president Manibharathi, and members of QTS committee, presented on stage a token of their support to the OQ president and committee.
