Al Sadd and Al Arabi registered victories in the Qatar Cup basketball tournament at the Qatar Basketball Federation Hall yesterday. Sindou Ismael Diallo’s match-high 38 points went in vain as Al Sadd defeated Al Wakrah 103-93. Omar Mohamed Saad also scored 21 points for the losers. For Al Sadd, Skyler Tyrone Flatten and Elhadj Seydou Ndoye netted 25 (2 rebounds, 3 assists) and 24 points respectively. Babacar Dieng contributed 18 points.
In the first match of the day, Al Arabi defeated Al Rayyan 84-65 as Wael Arakji scored match-high 28 points (3 rebounds, 5 assists) and Victor Rudd netted 20 points. For Al Rayyan, Tyler James Lee Harris and Jistin Jamel Wright-Foreman scored 18 and 17 points respectively.
Abdulla Yassin Mousa also chipped in with 11 points.
