QNB Group, in co-operation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence at the Ministry of Interior, organised a fire warden training workshop to build the preparedness and response capabilities of its employees to emergencies, potential risks and hazards.

The training programme was organised by the Safety and Security Department in collaboration with the Learning and Development Department at QNB, within its commitment to develop health and safety awareness in the workplace among its employees from various departments.

More than 200 employees from various departments of the bank participated in the workshop and received a certificate of completion in Emergency Response accredited by Qatar Civil Defence after gaining essential knowledge and understanding of fire safety management.

Commenting on the workshop, Yousef Ali al-Darwish, senior executive vice president, QNB Group Projects & General Services Division, said: "This workshop is a step forward in the bank's proactive risk mitigation strategy by training our employees on emergency preparedness and disaster management, and ensuring a safe and efficient response. This initiative, in co-operation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence, helps increase employees’ awareness in maintaining workplace safety and preventing potential risks within our efforts to promote a positive health and safety culture."

Participants learned about fundamental fire prevention principles, how to execute safe evacuations, and effectively use firefighting equipment in the workplace. They were also introduced to precautions and equipment to prevent fires and to minimise the risk of fire-related accidents.
