Ideal Indian School (IIS) team emerged as champions in the CBSE National Taekwondo Championship in Uttarakhand, India.

The IIS team won the overall championship in the boys’ category, by topping the Under-14 boys’ and Under-17 boys’ categories and as second runner-up in Under-19 boys’ section.

In the Under-19 category, Ammar Obaid Qazi won a silver medal and was awarded the title of Best Player in the Foreign Zone, while Yedhu Krishna earned a bronze. In the Under-17 category, Ahmed Hayan and Mithraj Vinod won a bronze medal each. Mohammed Hassan secured a silver medal in the Under-14 category, making him the first and youngest-ever silver medallist in the Under-14 category from the Foreign Zone, representing the Junior section of IIS. The team was led by captain Ammar Obaid Qazi and vice-captain Yedhu Krishna and trained by the school’s taekwondo coach Amazad Khan, with management by Satender Singh Panwar and Ajanaya. Principal Shaikh Shamim Saheb and the heads of sections commended the Physical Education Department for training the team.
