DPS-Modern Indian School welcomed Savitribai Phule Pune University vice-chancellor Prof Dr Suresh Gosavi and former vice-chancellor and National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 implementation steering committee chairman Prof Dr Nitin R Karmalkar for a session on NEP 2020.
In her welcome address, principal Asna Nafees highlighted key practices adopted in line with NEP 2020, such as the introduction of a bagless school initiative, and holistic report cards. Prof Dr Gosavi shared an overview of the university’s rich legacy and achievements, while commending MIE-SPPU Qatar for its contributions to education and research.
The interaction provided insights into NEP 2020’s key components, including interdisciplinary learning, flexible subject selection, credit system, and skill-based education. Prof Dr Karmalkar addressed questions on the framework’s impact on higher education pathways and alignment with industrial demands, leaving participants with a deeper understanding of the policy’s transformative potential in shaping the future of education.
On the occasion, the school planted two saplings with the name of the mothers of the special guests.
