DPS-Modern Indian School organised an awareness workshop titled ‘Pink Power: Educate, Detect, Protect Against Breast Cancer’ for its female teachers. The session, led by Dr Ashraf Awad, consultant medical oncologist, National Centre for Cancer Care and Research, Hamad Medical Corporation, aimed to educate the participants on breast cancer prevention, early detection and care.

The workshop covered vital topics, including cancer causes, symptoms, screening methods, and the significance of lifestyle factors such as diet and exercise in reducing cancer risks. Dr Awad emphasised the importance of regular screenings for women aged 45-69 and provided insights into Qatar’s National Breast Screening Programme, underscoring the life-saving potential of early detection.
