The College of Business and Economics (CBE) at Qatar University (QU) has announced that 28 of its students have obtained the esteemed Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) in the UK.

The achievement positions QU as one of the pioneering institutions in Qatar and among the first in the Middle East to have students receive this globally recognised certification.

The CMI certification, represents a significant milestone for the students, providing them with advanced skills in strategic decision-making and efficient team leadership.

These capabilities not only enhance their professional competencies but also substantially improve their career prospects in the increasingly competitive job market. CBE dean Prof Rana Sobh said the CMI certification opens greater opportunities for the students to compete in the global job market and strengthens their ability to lead teams and make strategic decisions.

Dr Ibrahim al-Nawas, head of the Management and Marketing Department at QU, said: “The process of obtaining this accreditation took more than a year of hard work, reflecting the dedication of the entire team. Additionally, the students’ achievement of these certificates required significant efforts from the Management Department team, including Dr Omar Ababneh, Dr Sara al-Mari, Dr Hameed Jalad, and Amna al-Muhanndi. Their contributions were
crucial in guiding and supporting the students throughout this journey.”
