Defending champions Al Arabi and Al Ahli reached the final of the 12th Qatar Cup basketball tournament on Saturday after defeating Al Sadd and Al Gharafa respectively at Al Gharafa Hall. With the help of Victor Dewayne Rudd’s 21 points (12 rebounds, 6 assists), Al Arabi defeated Al Sadd 81-70 in the semi-final. Wael Arakji and Abdelrahman Abdelhaleem also chipped in with 16 and 17 points for the winners. Skyler Tyrone Flatten scored 22 points for Al Sadd. Earlier, Holland Woods’s match-high 36 points went in vain as Al Ahil defeated record four-time champions Al Gharafa 87-86 in the first semi-final. Nedim Muslic and Mohd Yousuf Mohmmed also contributed 15 and 13 points respectively. Bruce Anthony Massey Jr scored 25 points (8 rebounds and 11 assists) while Raekwon Deshawn Rogers and Omar Roushdy Abdelbaset added 20 and 18 points. The final will take place on Thursday at 6:30pm.
