Qatar participates in Ministerial Council meeting on Development Road Project, Faw Port Development
The State of Qatar participated in the second quartet Ministerial Council meeting on the Development Road Project and the Faw Port development, which kicked off Thursday in Baghdad, Iraq.
HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti represented the State of Qatar at the meeting with HE Minister of Transport of the Republic of Iraq Razzaq Muhaibis Al Saadawi, HE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the United Arab Emirates Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei and HE Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkiye Abdulkadir Uraloglu.
The attendees were briefed on the latest road and rail infrastructure presented by the project consultant. They also signed the quartet ministerial statement, which includes the approval of the coordinating entity to manage and govern the project works, and urging the member states to exchange information and intensify efforts to achieve the desired goals of the project, and study alternatives for railway and road links with the aim of deepening trade and economic exchange between them with the countries of the world, and enhancing the transport of goods and passengers.
The 1,200 km Development Road connects the Grand Faw Port by rail and road to Turkiye to transport commodities and passengers. (
