Museum of Islamic Art and Ministry of Foreign Affairs unveils Together We Are exhibition celebrating the healing power of art

The Museum of Islamic Art in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar proudly unveiled Together We Are, an inspiring exhibition inaugurated by HE Lolwah Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, Shaika Nasser Al-Nassr, Director of The Museum of Islamic Art, and HE Amr El-Sherbiny, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Qatar. Open to the public until 7 November 2024, the exhibition showcases over 26 artworks created by children from Egypt’s Cancer Hospital, celebrating the therapeutic role of art in healthcare and underscoring the strong cultural ties between Qatar and Egypt.Each painting and drawing in the exhibition reflects the creativity and resilience of young artists undergoing cancer treatment, capturing personal stories of hope, courage, and imagination.As part of this initiative, the Museum of Islamic Art hosted a series of workshops and interactive sessions designed for the visiting children. These activities, focused on art therapy and creative expression, provided a nurturing environment where the children could explore their artistic skills and process their experiences creatively. Spanning a week, the program included various workshops and tours of locations around Doha.Together We Are exhibition invites art enthusiasts, healthcare professionals, and the general public to experience these powerful stories and celebrate the resilience of the human spirit while emphasising art’s role in healing and building connections across cultures.
