HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi on Monday inaugurated the 7th edition of the Visual Arts Creators Exhibition, being organised in partnership with Msheireb Museums at 'Bin Jelmod House' hall in Msheireb Museums, under the theme 'Art Reflecting the Shift Towards Sustainability.'

HE the Minister of Education was briefed on the exhibition by the participants, who consisted of students from public, international, and private school across primary, preparatory, and secondary levels.

HE al-Nuaimi praised the distinctive artistic and creative works that reflect the extent of interest in environmental and sustainability issues.

The exhibition, which will run until November 30 and features 400 artworks created by students, teachers and visual arts supervisors, aims to highlight sustainability topics in innovative and artistic ways, in addition to discussing the philosophy of sustainability in art, and enhancing students' and community's awareness of sustainability issues, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the ministry, Maha Zayed al-Ruwaili, expressed her pride of the role of the exhibition in highlighting the talents of students and teachers. The exhibition reflects the ministry's vision of enhancing the role of art as an effective tool to raise community awareness, especially with regard to sustainability, which is a fundamental pillar of future development, al-Ruwaili said.

Msheireb Museums General Manager, Abdulla al-Naama, said the 7th edition of the Visual Artists Creators Exhibition is one of the sustainability-focused art exhibitions that Msheireb Museums is interested in.

Al-Naama highlighted the level of creativity and awareness among the participating students. Many educational workshops and seminars are being held on the sidelines of the exhibition.

Al-Naama stressed that the co-operation with MOEHE is in line with Msheireb Museums' basic vision, which is to support education and focus on future generations in the cultural scene in general and to educate school students in particular.

He also pointed out that the exhibition reflects a commitment to supporting research and creativity, as the artworks on display and the events held on the exhibition's sidelines will be documented as part of an ongoing research project on the role of cultural institutions in promoting community dialogue and sustainable education.

The exhibition will include a special art symposium on November 7 at the ministry's theatre, alongside several specialised art training workshops accompanying the exhibition. A group of arts and education experts will participate in these workshops.
