HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani stressed the keenness of the Qatari community in the United Kingdom to perform its national duty by voting in the referendum on the draft constitutional amendments to the country's Permanent Constitution.

In his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Ambassador highlighted that the amendment proposals came to confirm Qatar's national identity and its political system based on the concept of Shura, its Arab and Islamic affiliation, and to strengthen the Qatari social fabric, in addition to confirming the State of Qatar's constant endeavor to consolidate the rule of justice and law in international relations.

He noted that students in particular, as well as Qataris in Britain, are keen to participate in the voting process due to their national sense, noting that instructions have been given to vote using the "Metrash 2" application.

In response to a question about whether Qatari student and community institutions had any role in encouraging Qatari citizens to participate in the referendum, HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Thani said that the embassy is in constant contact with Qatari student and community institutions and student councils in the United Kingdom. He added that the embassy provides them with the latest developments regarding their country, including the referendum on the draft constitutional amendments. He stressed the enthusiasm of the Qatari community to participate in the vote to enhance the rule of law, justice, and equality.
