One person was killed and 16 others were injured in a shooting at Tuskegee University in the US State of Alabama.
A 25-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of a machine gun, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a news release. He was leaving the area of the shooting with "a handgun with a machine gun conversion device." The agency did not say if he was the suspect in the shooting.
The university said law enforcement "have secured the scene" and the Alabama Bureau of Investigations is investigating.
The shooting is among at least 454 mass shootings reported so far this year in the United States.
A shooting at Albany State University Oct. 19 left one dead and injured multiple others. It happened the same day three people were killed and eight others were injured when shots were fired in Mississippi. It also follows an Oct. 12 shooting near Tennessee State University in Nashville.
