Doha Forum, QFFD organize high-level discussion panel on conflict mediation during paris Peace Forum 2024

The Doha Forum and Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) organized a high-level discussion panel in the presence of Executive Director of the Doha Forum Mubarak Ajlan Al Kuwari, Acting Director General of the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Sultan bin Ahmed Al Aseeri, and General Manager of Doha Forum Maha Al Kuwari.Organized as part of the activities of the 7th edition of the Paris Peace Forum, which is held annually to support capacity-building efforts and effective global coordination, the session addressed topics in line with the forum's slogan this year "Wanted: A Functioning Global Order." It also reviewed the importance of improving international governance in light of the increasing geopolitical challenges.The discussion panel focused on the need to adopt a dynamic and flexible approach to mediation that takes into account the complex geopolitical landscape. Participants stressed the importance of the participation of non-governmental actors and multilateral frameworks as essential pillars for enhancing stability in conflict areas and achieving sustainable peace.Marking the occasion, Mubarak Ajlan Al Kuwari noted the cooperation of the Doha Forum and the QFFD in hosting this high-level discussion panel, which includes an elite of the world's key experts to explore the need for participatory and innovative methodologies for mediation.He indicated that this year's edition of the Doha Forum will be launched next December, in continuation of the tireless efforts to commit to promoting constructive dialogue on the pressing challenges facing the world today.For his part, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Aseeri said that in light of the world's divisions and instability, the importance of strategic dialogue with global leaders and international stakeholders emerges as both a necessity and a responsibility.He pointed out that the partnership between the Paris Peace Forum and the Doha Forum as a co-host of the panel discussion confirms the full commitment to applying an innovative approach to resolving conflicts and enhancing efforts to build important partnerships. He added that the Doha Forum is moving toward adopting new channels for dialogue and cooperation to address the complex challenges facing the world to contribute to achieving lasting peace.The discussion was attended by key figures, including Professor at Columbia University and former Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Jean-Marie Guehenno, former President of the United Nations General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa, President of the US-Middle East Partnership Initiative Daniel Levy, and Professor of International Relations Ghassan Salame
