Qatar participates in 27th meeting of expert group on role of Arab media in combating terrorism

The State of Qatar participated in the 27th meeting of the permanent expert group on the role of Arab media in countering terrorism, which was held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.The State of Qatar was represented at the meeting by a delegation from the Qatar Media Corporation (QMA) headed by HE Chairperson of the Permanent Committee at the Arab League and Media Advisor to the Corporation Abdulrahman bin Nasser Al Obaidan.The meeting discussed following up on the implementation of Resolution No. 548 of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, issued at the regular session 54 on the role of Arab media in countering the phenomenon of terrorism, in addition to following up on the implementation of the executive plan for the joint Arab media strategy to combat terrorism, and preparing for the eighth discussion session on the role of Arab media in countering terrorism.Plenipotentiary Minister and Director of the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Information Ministers Council at the Arab League, Faleh Al Mutairi, told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the meeting discussed the axes of the Arab media strategic plan and its activation to combat the phenomenon of terrorism on several axes, including the phenomenon of child recruitment and electronic games that incite terrorism.In this regard, Al Mutairi pointed out that the Arab member states have adopted a number of activities during the period between 2024 and 2026 to implement the axes of the Arab media strategy to combat terrorism, noting also cooperation with Naif university for security sciences regarding the implementation of some related programs, in addition to Jordan hosting a symposium in this regard next January.
