The Ministry of Labour hosted an insightful discussion seminar with licensed recruitment offices involved in the recruitment of overseas workers. The event, themed "Recruitment Responsibility – Strengthening Rights and Reforms," aimed to raise awareness among licence holders regarding the latest decisions, procedures, and guidelines governing worker recruitment.
This seminar forms part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to engage with recruitment office owners, ensuring the effective implementation of regulations and guidelines, and promoting balance within the labour market.
Representatives from the Ministry of Labour’s Labour Licensing, Labour Relations, and Labour Dispute Departments attended the seminar, along with officials from the Ministry of Interior’s Expatriates Affairs and Search and Follow-up Departments.
During the seminar, the challenges faced by recruitment offices were thoroughly discussed, along with potential solutions to address them. The session also focused on the recently issued decisions, procedures, and guidelines aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing the labour market—particularly in relation to domestic workers—and ensuring the protection of the rights of all parties involved.
The Ministry of Labour reaffirmed its commitment to addressing all inquiries from recruitment offices and continues to organise workshops, seminars, and meetings in this regard. Additionally, the Ministry reiterated its dedication to implementing the necessary measures, decisions, and instructions to protect employers' rights, thereby alleviating the burden on families within Qatari society, particularly in relation to obligations arising from breaches of employment contracts or the absconding of domestic workers.
