The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has announced the launch of an innovative awareness competition for high school and university students.

Entries should be in the form of videos in Arabic or English. The content must be original and address the following topics: Reducing plastic consumption, protection of natural resources, recycling, planting trees and afforestation, and renewable energy.

The content of the video should focus on raising awareness of the impacts of climate change and the possible solution for the involved issues.

The video should be at least HD quality (720p), may be shot using smart phones or professional cameras, must comply with the sustainability regulations and the related environmental laws and should not contain any offensive or inappropriate material.

Entries will be accepted from individuals or teams of up to three students. However, no professional film makers will be allowed in this competition.

The whole video must be completely produced by the participants. In case of using external content, it must be licensed and free of intellectual property rights.

Participants have the intellectual property rights to their videos but they will grant the organising entity the use of the submitted videos, uploaded on YouTube, Google Drive, or the other accepted platforms.

Each participant has the right to submit only one video. To participate, the video link has to be sent by e-mail to [email protected] . The competition will have prizes worth QR30,000.
